Host/Hostess (Restaurant Ambassador) - Part Time

What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: ****
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Greet and welcome guests
- Manage reservations, wait times, answer calls, and address any questions
- Escort guests to their table, provide menus, and introduce their server
- Coordinate with servers and team to ensure available seating is accurate
- Maintain the reception area
- Maintain a constant focus on providing excellent, memorable guest experiences
- Maintain database of guest preferences, habits and special dates and encourage other employees to d so
- To uphold the Sofitel Washington D.C. Lafayette Square values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities
- To adhere to company policy and procedures, as stated in the company Handbook
- To provide the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling the company philosophy
- Sets up, breaks down and resets the Outlets’ service station
- Answers and takes phone orders using proper standards and etiquette
- Explain food and beverage items in detail to our guests
- Works well with others as a team and ensures outlet cleanliness by circulating through the Outlet when not busy at the welcome stand
- Take initiative in touching tables to ensure guest satisfaction when not busy at the welcome stand
- Assists in filling in at other F&B areas as agreed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Complete daily assigned side work tasks
- Communicate all guest needs with Leadership and other Ambassadors
- Assist with maintaining par levels in the store room while rotating product to reduce waste
- Uphold uniform and grooming standards
- Other duties as assigned
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
