    Job Description

    SOLUTE INC., established in San Diego, CA and with operations in Colorado, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia, is an innovative and dynamic organization that specializes in the fields of Engineering, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Program Management, Avionics Design, and more. We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our Accounting and Contracts teams. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team and participate in a wide range of accounting, contracts and financial analysis tasks.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze and interpret complex government contracts and build out contract structure in ERP system
    • Prepare monthly contract billings and project financial status reports
    • Analyze funding/revenue/cost profile of contracts, prepare financial forecasts and analyze deviations from budget
    • Work with customers, subcontractors and internal corporate teams to track contract deliverables and to ensure financial targets are met
    • Develop, follow and implement internal control procedures and help ensure interdepartmental compliance
    • Responsible for month-end activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries
    • Analyze financial statements, research variances and develop trend forecasts
    • Work with external auditors, conduct research, prepare documentation and ensure timely completion of audit requests
    • Prepare tax schedules, research tax issues and develop solutions
    • Review timecards and prepare payroll as needed
    • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
    • CPA preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting concepts
    • Ability to read and analyze technical forms and financial reports
    • Prior experience working with Jamis or other accounting software
    • Proficient in Word and Excel
    • Must be able to meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Self-starter, driven with superior attention to detail
