    We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller with at least 3 years of government contract accounting and compliance experience and 5+ years of general accounting experience. The Assistant Controller will participate in and oversee the general accounting operations of the organization.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review processes in Billing, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, General Ledger and Cost Accounting and ensure accuracy and timely completion of processes
    • Perform detailed monthly revenue/cost analysis, variance analysis and forecasting
    • Prepare reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts
    • Perform month-end closing processes including but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries and performing account analyses
    • Prepare monthly financial statements
    • Prepare tax, cost schedules and audit documentation as needed
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting and internal control procedures
    • Ensure proper documentation in accordance with company and contract requirements
    • Proactively resolve issues and contribute to development of creative solutions
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
    • Assist with special projects and additional duties as needed

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA license
    • 8+ years of experience in accounting
    • Experience with government compliance and project accounting
    • Experience working in defense contracting
    • Strong understanding of DCAA, FAR and GAAP
    • Strong computer skills, particularly MS Excel
    • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and attention to detail
    • Good communication and time management skills
    • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
    • Initiative to perform with little supervision
    • Punctual and reliable
