    SOLVCHEM, INC. is seeking a PRODUCTION LINE OPERATORS to work in our CONSUMER PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT at our plant in Pearland, Texas.   This is perfect for a hardworking, energetic individual who can work in a fast-paced plant environment.  SALARY RANGE IS FROM $14.00 TO $16.00, depending on experience. 

    The PRODUCTION LINE OPERATORS are responsible for all aspects of the production process, including material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, warehousing and various support activities. The operator position duties and responsibilities can change regularly based on the plant need that includes work duties of;  lifting, filling, packaging,  loading & unloading product, labeling, counting & housekeeping duties.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Set up & adjust machines
    • Operates production equipment and understands its normal operations
    • Operates a production line and learns various positions within the line to meet daily production quota.
    • Perform and follow (verbal/written) procedures and policies set by management.
    • Ensures finished goods meets customer specification and requirements
    • Monitor machines for unusual noises, movement & functions
    • Test, measure finished products and record their results
    • Assist the Production Supervisor/Lead Person in achieving scheduling requirements
    • Use and read measuring equipment as required, i.e. scales.
    • Complete charting as required by Q.C. Department standards
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area
    • Pursue ongoing goal of cost reductions
    • Assist Plant Staff with maintain & reporting equipment if faulty; i.e. forklift, pumps, hoses, repackaging tools, regulators, fillers etc.’ to maintenance.
    • Assist Plant Staff with periodic facility/equipment inspections.
    • Comply with all company policies, rules and guidelines
    • Promote a safe working environment with exceptional leadership in all the company Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, by following and maintain all safety policies & procedures at all times
    • This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the Logistics department.  Will performs other related duties as assigned.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum three (3) months of work experience in a plant environment, chemical industry required
    • Equipment specific training may be needed to handle high-tech equipment or machinery
    • Experience with Microsoft office applications or other systems preferred

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum three (3) months of work experience in a plant environment, chemical industry required
    • Equipment specific training may be needed to handle high-tech equipment or machinery
    • Experience with Microsoft office applications or other systems preferred

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

    • General plant environment including; Stand, walk, reach, stoop, and bend and use of hands to grasp, handle and lift/ pick up.
    • Ability to work in extreme environment temperatures
    • Physical ability to lift and carry at least 50 - 100 lb. net bags, boxes or pallets for short distances
    • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously for up to an hour.
    • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
    • Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise and hazardous chemicals on a daily basis.  May require safety equipment and/or precautions
    • Position requires occasional long hours, work on the evenings, occasional weekends or holidays when needed.
    • The physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
    • Must be able to pass company’s Drug & Alcohol Screenings
