SPATCO is looking for an energetic and coachable Petroleum Equipment Sales Representative to join our team to sell petroleum fueling systems to convenience store operators and fuel marketers. This person will be responsible for growing our business by maintaining and growing existing relationships and generating new business by securing and maintaining new customers.
Essential Functions:
• Become the expert on our product lines, as well as any industry or governmental regulations pertaining to our products and their installation.
• Be able to determine customer’s needs and then tailor a solution to meet those needs.
• Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, other key personnel).
• Work with fellow employees, customers, and vendors to build a team approach to providing best in class customer service.
• Be able to communicate professionally via phone, in-person/virtual meetings, conversations and presentations, email, etc.
• Develop goals, a territory sales plan, and execute the plan to meet goals and achieve success.
Requirements
Experience, Competencies and Education
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
• Experience and knowledge of fueling system equipment preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of general construction techniques
• Knowledge of basic IT and business software tools such as Word and Excel
• Consultative selling experience
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage projects
• Be self - motivated and able to perform assigned duties with minimum personal supervision
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Outside and consultative sales experience preferred
• Petroleum oil & gas equipment sales experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized
• Willingness to travel. Travel is primarily day trips with some occasional overnight stays
• Work under time constraints efficiently and be able to work well with others
• Must possess and maintain a safe driving record with a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
