    ** This position is eligible to work in a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote days). **THE PROGRAM The 2023 Network Operations Intern Program is open for dedicated and hardworking students. The goal of the Network Operations Intern Program is to provide current students with exposure to a real-life network operation setting, while giving them the opportunity to learn about our industry. Spectrum provides an atmosphere that is intended to broaden an entry level candidate’s professional understanding while promoting self-confidence, accomplishment, and career development. The program is 10 weeks in length and will run from: June 5th, 2023, through August 11th, 2023. JOB SCOPEAs a member of the Operational Intelligence team, the intern will work on assignments that will focus on exploring business challenges through data analytics and automation. This will include doing:Data analysis and acquisitionConfiguration of AIOps components to drive correlation of alarmsExploration of related issues such as lag time and over-reporting dataCoding / scripting for data ingest and automation of repetitive tasksCreation of documentation to detail achieved alarming updatesDelivery of executive presentation describing key areas of focusDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for performing analysis related to challenges provided by the OpsIntel groupData extraction analysis providing exposure to relational databases, HDFS, Druid, Splunk, and multiple APIsGeneration of custom queries or web-service calls to extract dataHands-on tuning of AIOps analytic platformExploration of a “big opportunity” within Spectrum, creation of a report detailing key findings, and presentation of these results to multiple stakeholdersBASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONSCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four year college or university Bachelors: Sophomore and above Master’s: Any Level Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required Proficiency in at least one coding or scripting language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, C++, PHP.Ability to extract data from source systems with SQL, Splunk or web-service calls.ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONSProficient in Microsoft SuiteBasic Linux ExperienceData extraction and analysis as applicable to the position.Ability to follow documented technical instructions and ask for help when neededAbility to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills and should have good presentation skills.Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job dutiesAbility to analyze, interpret data and synthesize recommendationsAbility to work across functional boundaries, build consensus and drive resultsExcellent analytical skillsMust be a problem solver, able to balance competing priorities, have a strong process orientation and be able to manage through complexity and rapid changeWORKING CONDITIONSOffice environmentNo travel required#LI-AK#LI-HYBRID GGN100 324452 324452BR Here, employees don’t just have jobs, they build careers.
