Operations Specialist (SPS Companies - Fire Protection Division) SPS Companies Fire Protection Division (Pipe Fabricators) is currently seeking an individual to fill an Operations Specialist position at our Maple Grove location. The position will have a variety of responsibilities, with the primary goal of keeping our business operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be comfortable utilizing our existing applications and software programs, and possess strong computer skills. Attention to detail is very important, as well as being able to communicate effectively with individuals from all levels of the organization. Job Description Overview * Coordinate daily LTL and truckload shipments * Manage daily deliveries with our delivery trucks * Create BOL's for shipments * Verify customer job status and prepare paperwork for shipment to include billing invoices once shipped * Provide lift operators direction for material flow to increase productivity * Coordinate with shop foreman to provide back up when needed to help manage a workforce of 30 shop employees * Be a positive motivation coach for team * Observe and provide possible solutions for operations obstacles * Research AP inquiries for discrepancies * Research inventory discrepancies * Enter inventory adjustments as needed * Notify sales team of any severe shortages * Provide turnaround dates for sales staff upon request * Conduct physical product counts annually (pipe counts quarterly) * Other duties as assigned * Reports to operations manager * Non-union position (hourly) * Position location: Pipe Fabricators - Maple Grove, MN Work with our current operations manager, to learn more about the business and our operations with the goal of eventually providing support for our 5 other locations, including: * Oversee shop and warehouse staff with lead location personnel. Key initiative is to minimize overtime hours worked, and analyze processes for possible improvement. * Work with sales to streamline our customers experiences with SPS companies * Other duties as required Qualifications * Strong attention to detail * Convey messages, ideas, and decisions through clear, verbal, and written communication * Ability to build and maintain relationships * Strong computer and communication skills * Able to problem, solve, analyze information, and work efficiently within existing programs and applications * Undergraduate Degree Prefered About SPS Companies - Fire Protection Division (Pipe Fabricators) Established in 1984, Pipe Fabricators provides premier fire protection products and fabrication. Our Maple Grove location is one of six branches within the fire protection division of SPS companies, Inc. In addition to fire protection, SPS has a plumbing/HVAC division, and a roofing and sheet metal division.
