Role Summary:

This Software Controls Engineer will work closely with senior software engineers, product team and customers to develop and test software used in our latest generation of advanced vertical furnaces. This position reports to the Software Development Manager and has high visibility across all departments as well as SPT’s parent company (SPP Technologies of Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Precision Products).

Job Responsibilities:

• Create and execute test plans for any changes prior to release
• Provide customer technical support for key software issues
• Present ideas for product improvements that would result in improved performance and revenue generation
• Take ownership of key software development projects with a thorough understanding of customer requirements
• Collaborate with various internal groups and teams
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines

**Required Qualifications & Skills: **

• Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
• Extensive working experience with PLC ladder logic and structured text programming
• Kinematics motion controls and/or Industrial robot experience
• HMI/SCADA/C# Graphical User Interface experience for industrial automation machines
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with object-oriented programming
• Experience with large-scale asynchronous systems (async/await, multithreading, multiprocessing)
• Experience developing and maintaining equipment control software
• Working knowledge of SEMI standards (e.g., E30, E40, E87, E90, E94)
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases (backup, restore, migration capabilities)
• Experience with software management tools GIT (GitHub) and Mantis Bug Tracking

Preferred skills:

• 3-5 years experience with hands-on software development in the semiconductor or related industries
• Primarily C# with C and C++ knowledge
• Experience with large-scale asynchronous systems (async/await, multithreading, multiprocessing)
• Knowledge of Linux
• Familiarity with Peer Group Software (PTO, Didact)
• Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally

Hours : 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Working Condition s: Work is fully in-person. Work is done either at an office desk or on our manufacturing cleanroom floor depending on the required work.

Time-Off :

SPT Microtechnologies believes that employees should have opportunities to enjoy time away from work to help balance their lives and care for themselves and their loved ones. Our PTO Policy promotes a flexible approach to time off with our PTO borrowing system, which allows employees to take 5 additional full days beyond their actual PTO balance. Full-time employees will accrue 16 days of PTO during the first year of employment, plus 1 additional day of PTO per additional calendar year of employment up to a maximum annual allowance of 26 days per year.
