Job Description

SPT Microtechnologies is a global supplier of process equipment for the Semiconductor, MEMS, III-V and Packaging industries. Based in San Jose, CA, the Software Development Engineer will work closely with a team of senior softare developers, product management and our customers to develop and test software used in advanced vertical furnaces.  This position will directly report to the Software Development Manager of the company and has high visibility across all departments and SPT’s parent company, SPP Technologies of Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Precision Products.  You will also interface with an industry leading external software development partner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Good knowledge and hands-on experience of the Object-Oriented programming.
  • C, C++, C#
• Expert in Didact – familiar with Peer Group Software is a plus
• Hand on with Automated software
• Good knowledge and hand on experience of multiple thread processing
• Good working knowledge of different OS (e.g., Unix, Solaris, Linux and lynx, Windows 10).
• Understand and familiar with the SEMI-Standards (e.g., E30, E40, E87, E90, E94).
• Familiar with Motif software development.
• Familiar with PLC logic.
• Knowledge of databases, including backup, restore, migration capabilities (Microsoft SQLServer, PostgreSQL)
• Good understanding of interfaces to robotics.
• Good knowledge of software management tools, CVS and RCS.
• Customer technical support for key software issues
• Present ideas for product improvements that would result in improvement performance and revenue generation

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Computer Science or equivalent degree

• 10 years’ experience in hands-on software development within the semiconductor or related industries preferred

• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally
• Valid driver’s license, passport, and ability to travel at short notice
