    JOB OVERVIEW1.  Support STAAR’s ERP and related systems worldwide.2.  Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects in parallel development and align them with the Company’s strategic plan with little supervision.3.  Analyze user requests and make recommendations for solutions.4.  Analyze, develop, test, and debug computer programs supported by IT.5.  Validate new and modified programs as required and in accordance with all internal and external requirements.6.  Maintenance, installation, and support of all hardware and software supported by IT as necessary.7.  Ensure IT controls are in place and effective to satisfy internal and external regulations and standards (i.e., FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO, IEEE, etc.).8.  Adhere to procedures and work instructions to help ensure compliance to external regulations.9.  Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & TRAINING•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with an Information Technology focus or equivalent experience.EXPERIENCE•  Five to seven years programming experience.•  Experience in software development lifecycle such as design documentation, process models, process decomposition diagrams, data models, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, and network diagrams.•  Relevant experience for a medical device manufacture is a plus.•  Relevant experience for a public company is a plus.SKILLS•  Strong verbal and written communication skills.•  Strong problem solving abilities.•  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.•  Ability to learn quickly and work independently.•  Working knowledge of UNIX operating system is preferred.•  Working knowledge of PICK, Unidata, Universe, or related systems.•  Working knowledge of “System Builder” is preferred.•  Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Windows based desktop and server applications (i.e., MS Office, SQL Server, IIS, etc.) is preferred.•  Working knowledge of manufacturing, finance, and distributions systems is preferred.•  Working knowledge of database administration and design is preferred.•  Working knowledge of manufacturing and distributions systems preferred.STAAR Surgical is an equal employment opportunity employer.
