We are looking for a staff accountant and payroll specialist to join our growing team in our team at our Auburn Hills location. This position is full time and can be a hybrid position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and approves payrolls.
- Handles accounting for multiple companies (full-cycle accounting)
- EOY for clients and several additional companies
- Finalizes taxes for business clients.
- Insurance audits (requested by insurance companies)
- Prepare and distribute W-2’s.
- Preps taxes for corps and sole props
- Prepares and submits quarterly taxes for multiple companies (20 days per month)
- 940/941 & SUW returns for State of MI
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of accounting, payroll and payroll tax experience.
- Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience with both desktop and online QuickBooks.
- Ability to work against deadlines.
- Good customer-facing skills and experience.
- Experience with MS Office, Thompson Reuters suite, and ADP Run preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
