Supportive Living Caregiver $17-$18/HR

Star Developmental Services is looking for charismatic people who are interested in mentoring individuals with developmental disabilities to navigate independence in their own homes. You will be a mentor who provides caregiving and companionship skills—assisting with daily life activities, while partaking in community-based outings that provide socialized interaction.

This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys engaging with others while not being constricted to a traditional work setting. This position requires providing hands-on care, direct training, program planning and documentation to adults with developmental disabilities to help promote independence.

Monday-Friday

3:00 pm -11:00 pm

Qualifications: • Minimum qualification is a high school diploma or GED

• Clear background check, including fingerprint scan

• Minimum of 18 years of age

• No DUIs or felonies

• Current First Aid and CPR certification · Willingness to assist people with personal care needs and public transportation training

Job Description

Direct Support Staff assist with daily living skills, social activities; encourage friends and circles of support. Increase self-advocacy; assist with shopping, meal preparation, clean-up and laundry. Support Staff must demonstrate a high degree of understanding and commitment to the principles of supported living. They must understand and accept that supports will be molded to fit the participant’s needs.
