    Job Description

    The COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP will give a very broad stroke overview of STCU’s Community Relations department focusing on the community development side which focuses on business and community development and education outreach.   Responsibilities will include assisting the Community Development team with their outreach in Washington and Idaho, which might include event preparation, internal and external communications, research, post-event analysis and analytics, community events and volunteerism, and assisting with financial education. Be a content provider for various writing assignments, work on signature events and initiatives including Back to School, Administrative Professionals Day, and educator grants. Perform general administration and office duties, including coordination of specialty items/giveaways, database entry, and preparation of written correspondence.

    This position will be based in Kennewick, Washington at 9001 W Tucannon Ave #210.

    This position requires the candidate to attend in-person community events, school functions, and appear at public venues that require vaccination pursuant to Washington State Governor Inslee’s proclamations and other applicable state and local policies. A successful applicant for this position will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment and provide proof of such vaccination prior to commencement of employment. Additionally, successful applicants will also be required to comply with any applicable federal, state, and local/community masking and social-distancing policies.

    REQUIRED

    • Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through December 2022 (Masters students ok).
    • Excellent verbal, organizational and writing skills. 
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Forms.
    • Student must be a hard worker with a fun, can-do attitude.
    • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

    PREFERRED 

    • Community involvement, volunteer experience, office experience, and prior event coordination. 
    • Reliable transportation needed.

    Additional Information

     

    • DURATION: Six months with the possibility of extension
    • HOURS PER WEEK: Average of 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, occasional nights and weekends.
    • CAR NEEDED: Yes
    • MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT: Yes 
    • PAY: $18/hour DOE
