    Job Description

    The Community Engagement internship will give a very broad stroke view of STCU’s Community Relations department which includes: event coordination, internal and external communications, office coordination, and research. Responsibilities will include assisting the Community Relations department with their work in Washington and Idaho, which might include: event and financial education preparation, post-event analysis and analytics, community events and volunteerism, and business development support. Be a content provider for internal and external communications for the department. Work on signature initiatives including STCU’s staff volunteer program, Back to School, Administrative Professionals Day, and educator grants. Perform general administration and office duties, including coordination of specialty items/giveaways, database entry and analytics, and preparation of written correspondence.

    This position will be based at STCU Headquarters, at 1620 N. Signal Drive or at STCU Commercial Banking Center, 9001 West Tucannon Avenue, Suite 210, Kennewick, WA.

    Duration: May 2024- December 2024, with the possibility of extension.

    Schedule/Hours per week: Average of 15-20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, occasional nights and weekends. Up to 40 hours a week during the summer.

    Eligibility : Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through December 2024 (Masters students ok).

    • Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through December 2024 (Masters students ok).
    • Excellent verbal, organizational and writing skills.
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Forms.
    • Student must be a hard worker with a fun, can-do attitude.

    Preferred

    • Community involvement, volunteer experience, office experience, and prior event coordination.
    • Reliable transportation needed.
