    Job Description

    The COMMUNITY RELATIONS INTERNSHIP will givevery broad stroke view of STCU’s Community Relations department which includes: event coordination, internal and external communications, office coordination, and research. Responsibilities will include assisting the Community Relations department with their outreach in Washington and Idaho, which might include: event preparation, post-event analysis and analytics, community events and volunteerism, and assisting with financial education as needed.  Be a content provider for various writing assignments. Work on signature events and initiatives including STCU’s staff volunteer program, Back to School, Administrative Professionals Day, and fall educator grants. Perform general administration and office duties, including coordination of specialty items/giveaways, database entry, and preparation of written correspondence.

      SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $20.00 per hour

    **THIS INTERNSHIP WILL WORK IN PERSON AT OUR HEADQUARTERS LOCATION IN LIBERTY LAKE, WA. THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO ATTEND IN-PERSON COMMUNITY EVENTS, SCHOOL FUNCTIONS, AND APPEAR AT PUBLIC VENUES THAT REQUIRE VACCINATION PURSUANT TO WASHINGTON STATE GOVERNOR INSLEE’S PROCLAMATIONS AND OTHER APPLICABLE STATE AND LOCAL POLICIES. A SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT AND PROVIDE PROOF OF SUCH VACCINATION PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF EMPLOYMENT. ADDITIONALLY, SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH ANY APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL/COMMUNITY MASKING AND SOCIAL-DISTANCING POLICIES.

    REQUIRED

    • Candidate needs to be an enrolled college student for the entirety of the internship and seeking credits, through December 2023 (Masters students ok).
    • Excellent verbal, organizational and writing skills. 
    • Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Forms.
    • Student must be a hard worker with a fun, can-do attitude.
    • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

    PREFERRED 

    • Community involvement, volunteer experience, office experience, and prior event coordination. 
    • Reliable transportation needed.

    Additional Information

     

    • DURATION: MAY-DECEMBER 2023, six months with the possibility of extension
    • SCHEDULE/HOURS PER WEEK: Average of 15-20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, occasional nights and weekends. Up to 40 hours depending on need and availability in the summer.
