BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and dependable After-School STEAM Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on learning activities for elementary-aged students in North Potomac, MD.

This is a great opportunity for educators, STEM/STEAM instructors, science enthusiasts, makers, artists, engineers, tutors, or anyone passionate about helping children explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Position Details

• Activity: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics)

• Location: North Potomac, MD

• Schedule: After-school afternoon hours, to be confirmed

• Session Length: 1.5 hours

• Pay: $37.50 per session ($25 per hour)

• Position Type: Part-time, in-person

• Monday through Friday, depending on program scheduling

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum, activity guidance, and materials provided

Program Focus

Instructors will teach basic STEAM concepts through fun, hands-on, age-appropriate activities, such as:

• Simple science experiments and discovery activities

• Beginner engineering and building challenges

• Creative design and problem-solving projects

• Basic technology concepts

• Math and logic games

• Arts-integrated learning activities

• Teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging STEAM activities for elementary-aged students

• Explain basic concepts in a fun and accessible way

• Guide students through hands-on projects and challenges

• Encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving

• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment

• Follow BBA#39;s curriculum and program guidelines

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership

Qualifications

• STEAM, STEM, science, technology, arts, or education experience preferred

• Experience working with children is a plus

• Patient, creative, dependable, and organized

• Comfortable leading elementary-aged students

• Reliable transportation to the program location

• Must successfully complete required background checks
