BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable After-School STEM Instructor to lead engaging STEM enrichment activities for elementary-aged students in Silver Spring, MD.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background or interest in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, education, robotics, coding, or hands-on learning who enjoys working with children.

Position Details

• Part-time, after-school position

• Monday through Friday

• Afternoon after-school hours

• 1.5-hour sessions

• $45 per session ($30 per hour)

• No weekends

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum and materials provided

• In-person position in Silver Spring

Program Focus

Students will explore age-appropriate STEM activities designed to encourage:

• Science exploration

• Technology and engineering concepts

• Hands-on experiments

• Problem-solving

• Building and designing

• Teamwork and collaboration

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, hands-on STEM activities

• Explain STEM concepts in an age-appropriate and easy-to-understand way

• Encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving

• Follow BBA#39;s structured curriculum and activities

• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment

• Supervise and engage students throughout each session

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership

Qualifications

• STEM, education, teaching, or related experience preferred but not required

• Experience working with children is a plus

• Comfortable working with elementary-aged students

• Creative, patient, and energetic

• Reliable transportation to schools in Silver Spring

• Dependable and punctual

• Must successfully complete the required Montgomery County Public Schools background check and fingerprinting process
