    Job Description

    1. Must be qualified and capable of performing skilled machine and lathe work and performing major and general mechanical, electrical and pipe fitting work as well as a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks in the plant or on the premises (i.e. HVAC, plumbing,).

    2. Must be capable of performing various types of welding operations required for repair and installation of equipment.

    3. Under the direction of the supervisor, must be capable of operating the Storeroom by assisting in the following areas: Responsible for notifying Lead or Supervisor when minimum quantities of stock is reached Notify Lead or Supervisor when hand tools are defective

    4. Must maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures).

    5. Is responsible for keeping the storeroom area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times.

    6. Must exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating moving equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees.

    7. Must comply fully with all hazardous permitted procedures including, but not limited to, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, line breaking or hot work permits.

    8. When required for maintenance or repair activities, is responsible for removing accumulated hazardous wastes from affected area and for transporting such wastes to the hazardous waste storage area.

    9. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor or lead person.

    Education Degree

    • High School Diploma or GED

    Minimum Required Experience

    High School Graduate or equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, machine instruction manuals and schematics. Basic math, writing and data entry skills. Demonstrated proficiency in performing advanced maintenance functions in a safe manner, including but not limited to the following: industrial electronics, welding, pipe fitting, carpentry, machine shop operation, small engine repair, HVAC. May be either from education or experience.

    Three plus years of industrial plant maintenance experience desirable – either from trade school training or experience.

    Job Specific Requirements

    Forklift, scissor lift, all shop equipment, power tools, various welders, hoists. Must be able to perform basic rescue and life-saving functions when serving as safety backup. Stock all maintenance inventory and production supplies. Ability to climb ladders and narrow stairs safely. Good safety record and troubleshooting skills. Will work in all areas of industrial maintenance performing a variety of construction and repair tasks.

    Required Competencies

    Ability to access all parts of all production equipment, including, but not limited to the following: confined spaces; ceiling mounted equipment; equipment in pits, machines that must be climbed, crawled under, or otherwise entered with limited access. Good hand/eye coordination. May be expected to move, carry and lift approximately 70 pounds. May be expected to climb heights of approximately 30 feet. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.

    Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, as required. Equipment listed below (Specific Job Requirements) may be used as needed to assist in these Required Competencies.

    Misc

    Performs necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats. Reliable, good communication skills. Must be able to communicate and coordinate efforts with people from all levels of the organization. Able to work with minimal direct supervision. Maintenance of personal hygiene.
