    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Manager, Corporate Accounting leads and develops a team that sustains and improves accounting, forecasting and reporting activities associated primarily with leasing and stock-based compensation.

    POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Coordinate amongst the team the detailed accounting and reporting activities on a recurring basis in order to support rapid and accurate period-end close

    • Maintain exemplary relationships with the multiple internal stakeholders that support the accounting and reporting process (business groups, HR compensation, payroll) or require its output (senior leadership, forecasting team)

    • Review journal entries and reconciliations

    • Review financial analysis on monthly and quarterly data

    • Review quarterly and annual external disclosures associated with team scope and XBRL reporting of the financial statements

    • Identify, analyze and reconcile inconsistent information and recommend adjustments where necessary

    • Research and analyze technical accounting literature in relationship to significant financial transactions, identify alternatives, and document positions

    • Identify and support process improvement and monitor existing process to ensure continuous improvement

    • Develop, execute and track comprehensive workplans, including those that pertain to the integration of newly acquired entities

      • identifying monthly, quarterly and annual activities for the team
      • identifying and prioritizing risks and opportunities, and designing adequate responses
      • designing and implementing new controls, including periodic report testing
      • documenting all activities
      • developing and improving value of analysis and reporting to internal users;
    • Coach, supervise and develop direct reports

    • Ensure accounting, financial reporting and disclosures comply with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and securities regulations, and underlying processes comply with internal controls (SOX) requirements

    • Address queries from auditors and internal reviewers

    • Exemplifies CPKC Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Accounting Designation required (CPA; CPA, CA)
    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required (public company external reporting or audit, desirable)
    • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements applicable to public companies (US GAAP experience, desirable)
    • Application Expertise (desirable): SAP, BPC, Excel, Workiva, Blackline, Shareworks, SLAN
    • Management and leadership skills including coaching, motivating, resilience, team building, change management, process reviews
    • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication Skills

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: 5+ years in Customer Service role required, preferably with In-Store Marketing specific experience.  Previous experience as a Supervisor, Team or Project Coordinator required.

    Bachelor’s Degree, or HS diploma plus comparable 5+ years of relevant service experience directly related to the duties of the job. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • You must have the ability to evaluate Client Services team members skill set in relation to work assignment and capacity.
    • You must have the ability to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement & recommend an improvement training plan for Client Services team members.
    • You must possess the ability to establish your own priorities based on leadership goals, and set pace for the Client Services team.
    • You must have the ability to follow company policy and understand any rules or regulations governing the work being completed.
    • You must have the ability to understand & interpret ISM strategies related to campaign execution, especially in regards to complex data ingestion & promotion logic.
    • You must have the ability to understand the impact work has on the ISM service chain and overall platform
    • In order to complete duties successfully, you must have very good knowledge of technology to include computers and software, especially MS Office, MS Excel, or other programs that may be specific to the job.
