PROGRAM SPECIALIST
REGION SIX CUSTOMER SUPPORT CONTRACT
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
STG International, Inc. (STGi) is seeking qualified PROGRAM SPECIALIST candidates to support the Office of Head Start Region VI Regional Office located in Dallas, Texas. The PROGRAM SPECIALIST will demonstrate a positive attitude and a strong work ethic to become an integral member of the STGi Support Team.
The PROGRAM SPECIALIST will be responsible for the following tasks:
Provide administrative support to Federal Program Staff with grantee related issues
Provide program and technical administration of ACF discretionary programs related to the Office of Head Start
May lead and/or participate in on-site reviews for the purpose of assessing Head Start grantee performance and compliance with Federal regulations
May provide guidance and assistance to grantees on effective practices for program planning, management, and fiscal operations to ensure efficient delivery of services and compliance with federal regulations
Monitor grants activities for conventional or pre-established grantee/contractor programs
Collect and analyze a wide variety of data to assess performance and recommend improvements in grantee operations
Prepare, monitor, and report on designated Head Start/early childhood program operations and grantee activities, issues and accomplishments
Conduct monthly calls, review and analyze all applications and correspondence received for assigned grants
Provide programmatic advice and technical assistance related to the Head Start Act and Head Start Performance Standards as well as fiscal oversight
Schedule and record Regional Office and Grantee Meetings
Process various programmatic waivers (i.e. teacher qualification, enrollment reduction, transportation and disabilities)
Process Funding Guidance Letters, general correspondence
Provide initial review of Application Analysis tool for all incoming grant applications
Train new hires in unit support roles. Head Start Enterprise and Grant Solutions
Create of PowerPoints for annual Regional Updates at state conferences and trainings
Participation in presentation of Regional updates at state conferences and trainings
Main contact for set up of all Regional staff meetings and webinars
Main contact to Regional Office mainline
File, copy, fax, scan, and upload documents
Occasional travel may be required
Required Skills
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor degree preferred but not required
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Early Childhood programs, with a preference for Head Start/Early Head Start programs
Demonstrated ability to analyze, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Ability to be flexible in response to changing needs and priorities of the office
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, familiarity with Access
Required Experience
