Position Responsibilities
The Application System Developer reports directly to the Manager of Development and Integration and is considered a key position on the IT Development team. Position is responsible for new development, enhancements and escalated support of integrations, workflows and business processes that are key to the success of the company.
- Function as the Microsoft technical lead programmer/developer for the Autokiniton development & integration environment.
- Utilize functional knowledge of Microsoft integration technologies & applications to provide leading edge application integration in the Autokiniton environment.
- Provide support and development for Autokiniton developed in-house and purchased applications.
- Manage large, diverse and often complex projects.
- 80% Application, Systems and Services Development, 20% Administrative tasks.
- Work with various departments and business leaders to assess, design, develop, test and document changes needed to improve efficiency and provide business performance improvement.
- Prepare and present change control documentation for implementation of completed work prior to production installation.
- Work with regional support teams in the development and testing of solutions as required.
- Work on special projects as assigned by IT Manager - Development & Integration.
- Plan and implement new procedures to improve existing processes where needed.
- Act as a resource in supporting the Autokiniton community by providing software upgrades and system training in relevant areas.
- Participate in user groups and industry forums, representing Autokiniton IT at meetings and conferences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience on moderate to complex IT projects in a developer/programmer capacity utilizing the Microsoft Technology Stack
- Proficient in C# programming language.
- Ability to document application designs
- Demonstrated ability to design, document and perform testing strategies for application enhancements
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Bachelor’s Degree in management information systems, computer science or related field

- Knowledge of IT processes within the global automotive environment a plus
- Demonstrated use of application development methodologies
- Demonstrated experience working with the Microsoft application development environment
- BizTalk 2013 & higher or other Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration experience

Duties include but are not limited to remaining in a stationary position, move about inside an office environment, manoeuvre around/under office furniture, operate a computer, printer, and phone. Able to position self to install IT equipment, able to communicate information so others can understand and exchange accurate information in these situations, able to observe details at close range, and have an ability to travel to manufacturing locations. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
