This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work and associates for the Inserting area during the associated shift schedule.  Additional duties and responsibilities including assisting and answering questions from associates; delegating and assigning work; monitoring production levels, errors, attendance and quality; assisting in the performance appraisal process; scheduling overtime as required; maintaining a safe working environment for associates; and following all procedures in quality and production.   May act as backup to department supervisor. 

Work hours are 7 am - 7 pm Thurs - Sat and every other Sunday

Required Skills

• Prior work experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Prior experience with automated inserting equipment is highly desirable
• Knowledge of USPS regulations is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, improve efficiencies within the department, and develop technical competence
• Must have demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, building and maintaining work relationships, and developing subordinates
• Able to work under pressure and tight time frames
• High degree of initiative
• Must be PC literate in a Windows environment
• Must be willing to work nights and overtime as required
