    JOB SUMMARY

    This position supports, monitors and implements hardware, software and KCS specific technical solutions and applications. It requires disciplined technical leadership and the ability to design and integrate solutions into KCS’ infrastructure that adhere to enterprise standards. Works to improve the operation and reliability of enterprise infrastructure systems through process automation, monitoring and application of software solutions to production problems.

     

    JOB DUTIES

    Position Specific:

    • Designs and integrates application solutions into KCS’ infrastructure including virtualization, networking, load balancing, firewalls, and backups to adhere to enterprise standards.
    • Leads major tasks and actions as part of disaster recovery preparedness and testing efforts.
    • Leads root cause analysis with incident and problem management for infrastructure problems.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with infrastructure partners to remain current on their roadmap including enhancements, patches, and upgrades.

    General:

    • Establishes relationships and work directly with vendor solutions within projects and upgrades of the environment.
    • Creates, maintains and updates platform documentation and standard operating procedures.
    • Provides 24X7 support for position specific role and participates in a scheduled on-call rotation covering all data center technologies.
    • Adheres to KCS change and configuration management processes.
    • Adheres to designated KCS architecture and industry best practices for solutions to meet business needs.
    • Maintains responsibility, accountability and credibility in all work and research assignments and sustained ability to be highly self-motivated and directed.
    • Identifies, isolates and resolves production and non-production system problems, service requests and support processes.
    • Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.

      

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
    • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including specialized knowledge of a discipline utilized to lead an area of our business
    • or equivalent combination of education and experience

      PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong understanding of container management platforms.
    • Demonstrated Linux server experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with the design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade and support of server hardware technologies.
    • Demonstrated experience designing and integrating application solutions into the infrastructure to meet project requirements.
    • Understanding and experience with Azure cloud technologies.
    • Understanding and experience with Google cloud technologies.
    • Strong understanding of network typology.
    • Strong Windows 2016 and 2019 servers.
    • Experience with the following technologies is a plus: Nutanix, VMware, SRM, Ansible, Terraform, RedHat (RHEL), PowerShell, F5 load balancers, Cisco networking, firewall technology, active/directory, Commvault, nexpose and crowdstrike.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS

    • Nutanix certification preferred.
    • VMware Certified Data Center Professional (VCP) certification preferred.
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification preferred.
    • RHEL certification preferred.
    • ITIL certification preferred.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, focused on documentation.
    • Ability to deal with stressors resulting from project deadlines and multi-tasked environment.
    • This position has a regular full time schedule with a normal work week of Monday through Friday. There may be a need for occasional work after hours or weekends.
    • This position may require minimal travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Qualifications
    • Expert level understanding of MarTech partner ecosystems (SI, ISV, etc) and partner status requirements
      • Ensure partnership status levels are maintained or enhanced relative to both sales and certifications/enablement
      • Achieve growth targets
      • Monitor client satisfaction
    • Actively generate new business pipeline through partner sales team(s) as well as internal RRD sales groups.
      • Conduct internal selling efforts to educate and increase awareness of partnership and related services
      • Has primary responsibility for identifying and qualifying opportunities for business expansion.
      • Act as subject matter expert relative to RRD services, partner technology and marketing to support new business opportunities
    • Articulate RRD’s value proposition, vision, strategies, capabilities, and solutions that differentiate us from our competition
    • Coordinate with services delivery counterparts to support resource enablement initiatives
    • Contributes to and/or leads BU-specific marketing initiatives including positioning, go-to-market strategies, development of sales tools, and partner co-marketing opportunities

    • Inform revenue forecasting and participate in sales & operational planning
    • Respond to client needs in an appropriate and timely manner
