    STGi is currently seeking a qualified Clinical Supervisor candidates for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) Supportive Housing (HUD/VASH) Program.

    The Clinical Supervisor will arrange, coordinate, monitor, mentor, and ensure all delivered services by the case management team meet the needs of clients. This includes providing ongoing management and oversight of case management personnel who are providing structured case management services and support to the Veterans within LA County. This position requires a combination of administrative/office duties and field/outreach work.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Leadership, Administration, Oversight

    • Thoroughly screen and interview qualified candidates for all vacant positions. Provide hiring and termination recommendations.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding plan for all HUD VASH employees to ensure consistency in all on the job professional development and training.
    • Train program personnel as necessary in treatment protocols, diagnostic and bio-psychosocial assessment, interpretation, and formulation. Train and provide ongoing guidance to staff on clinical intervention strategies, treatment planning and behavioral health screenings as necessary toward ensuring excellent service delivery standards.
    • Develop and maintain quality assurance and risk mitigation plans.
    • Provide clinical oversight of program assessment and services provided by the Case Managers to residents to ensure the quality of the services and to ensure that services meet or exceed regulatory guidelines.
    • Oversee the clinical needs of residents in the facility.
    • Conduct ongoing supervision for quality assurance, staff development, performance management, and ongoing training.
    • Establish collaborative relationships with services providers inside and outside of the VA to ensure Veteran’s continuity of care with wrap-around services.
    • Ensure that all relevant program staff provides timely, accurate and clear documentation according to established policies and procedures.
    • Develop and provide ongoing clinical staff development, sharing clinical knowledge and enhancing the skills of direct reports. Related duties include establishing/revising clinical practice policy, case conferencing, individual and group supervision.
    • Establish and maintain an ongoing schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly individual, team, supervision, seminars, training, and case conference meetings.
    • Respond to challenges, deadlines, and emergencies to ensure the safety of all team members.
    • Establish and maintain all clinical and programmatic standard operating procedures in coordination with STGi policies.

    Clinical Services and Supports:

    • Participate in program admissions to include pre-screening clients to determine if they are fit for placement in the shelter.
    • Assign caseloads with assistance of Lead Case Manager, enroll, and dis-enroll clients in the program, using the electronic case management software systems to include Mission Tracker and clarity (HMIS).
    • Conduct high-risk screening, and psychosocial assessment.
    • Facilitate daily structured group meetings and group activities to promote social skills, healthy lifestyles, and psychosocial group sessions.
    • Assist with crisis intervention with an effort to maintain a safe and respectful environment, free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, does not allow weapons, threats, bullying or intimidation and reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as the incident occurs.
    • Work in collaboration with Primary health care providers, case managers, employees, contractors, and outside consultants as needed to ensure a high-quality continuum of care that meets the needs of the client.
    • Ensure the utilization of best and evidence-based approaches to mental health care consistent with health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, wellness, treatment adherence, and housing goals.
    • Interpret relevant clinical information to resolve problems, imparting these skills unto staff; effectively balances considerations and alternatives to make sound decisions.
    • Review and approve individual treatment plans (Individualized Service Plans), casefile documentation, and other program documents to ensure thorough and accurate file documentation.
    • Work cooperatively with VASH team members, including sharing responsibility for 24 hour on-call coverage. Provide ongoing support and crisis intervention to colleagues and clients as needed.
    • Coordinate with VA Liaison to organize weekly case conferences and send out reminders to staff.
    • Collect and review staff updates/plans for the Veterans that will be covered in the upcoming conference and ensure that VA liaison has a copy before the conference date. Attend case conferences with staff and VA Liaison. Ensure cross collaboration between STGi VASH and VA.

    Quality Assurance and Reporting:

    • Provide support to individual staff members as needed regarding clinical documentation, assessments, and VA policies and procedures.
    • Review casefile documentation and required paperwork completed by direct reports for accuracy and submits to program management in accordance with established timeframes. Ensures the maintenance of all documentation as required.
    • In collaboration with Lead Case Manager and Program Director, ensure that the program census data is up to date, detailing documentation that has been done/needs to be updated, and enter required tracking information.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with un-cooperative clients.
    • Demonstrated expertise and experience in clinical assessment, interpersonal, and intervention skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with homeless and mentally ill population.
    • Demonstrated experience in training professional staff to achieve confidence and ability to work independently in the field.
    • Proven leadership qualities including dependability, collaboration, promptness, positivity, flexibility, and organization.
    • Knowledge of/or experience with DSM diagnoses, assessment of level of functioning, EBP’s such as Motivational Interviewing, Critical Time Intervention, DBT, Harm Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Trauma Informed Care, Housing First, PTSD, recovery model, etc.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with others and in a team.
    • Takes initiative and has a solution focused practice.
    • Uses good time management skills and resources to balance case load direct service and paperwork.
    • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
    • Must have a current California driver’s license and insurance for regular driving and transporting.

    Required Experience

    • Must have a master's degree in social work (MSW) or marriage and family therapy (LFMT) from an accredited institution. Must be licensed as an LCSW or LMFT, registered with BBS and have a minimum of 2-years supervisor experience, including one year working with Veterans Case Management experience.
    • At least three (3) years of experience as a Clinical Supervisor of a residential homeless facility or relevant experience.
    • Experience working with the homeless population for a minimum of three (3) years.
    • Experience with Continuum of Care and Coordinated Entry System preferred.
    • Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) experience preferred.
    • Housing Program Models and best practices like Housing First preferred.
