    JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate directly with a member of the senior leadership team who, in collaboration with the intern, will develop plans for the duration of the internship, as well as for their career
    • Opportunities to observe system-level executives at meetings
    • Opportunities for developing and enhancing leadership skills in personnel and project management
    • Opportunities to develop technical skills in management, logistics and stakeholder relationships
    • Opportunities to see government contracts in action serving under-deserved populations, children and refugees

    FELLOWSHIP STRUCTURE

Fellows will work alongside Senior Executives to execute programs for contracts in association with the Department of Health and Human Services or Department of Health. Deployment of these programs will begin immediately and the fellows will take ownership of either direct employee management, divisional management, project management or other area that is in the interest of the fellow in coordination with senior leadership.

    • Daily and Weekly Contracting Meetings - By observing leaders, fellows gain awareness of various decision-making processes and challenges. Fellows will be able to participate in some of these meetings with the opportunity to provide insight and direction that may be implemented.
    • Administrative Rotations - Fellows have the opportunity to rotate through various sites that are deployed through and by DHHS in coordination with STGi and it’s partnered contracts. The rotations are intended to give fellows exposure to working with physicians, nurses and other clinical staff, as well as an opportunity to observe frontline procedures and patient care. Site location may vary according to the project at hand. Current locations will reside in PA or MI and may include travel between both.
    • Senior Leadership Meetings - Fellows meet monthly or as needed with senior executives to discuss fellowship progress, professional development opportunities, and current issues.
    • Projects – Current projects include those under DHHS that cover Unaccompanied Minors and refugee children. The fellow and his/her preceptor select assignments that are mutually beneficial to the fellow, the specific operations, and system that supports government contracts. Projects include leading a major human resources and scheduling systems conversion, creating a business plan for a service-line expansion, participating in developing a departmental strategic plan, and integration of a new healthcare delivery contract.
    • Fellows have an opportunity to participate in designing new clinical operations models and coordinating processes in multi-million dollar initiatives. Examples of other projects include management of initiatives such as contract negotiations, impact analysis, environmental analysis and emergency deployment models for healthcare delivery.
    • Fellows will assume supervisory roles and interim management roles as needed from day one of fellowship
    • Evaluation - Fellows will be officially evaluated by their preceptors in the first 90-days and at the end of the 6-month fellowship.
