Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated State-Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) to join our healthcare team. As an STNA, you will provide essential care to our patients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while assisting them with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, demonstrate strong communication skills, and work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Aid patients with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
- Help patients with daily activities such as eating, using the restroom, and recreational activities.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, reporting any significant changes to nursing staff.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout all care activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols and cleaning procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Assist with basic medical tasks as directed by nursing staff, including taking samples or preparing medication.
Qualifications:
- Valid State-Tested Nurse Aide certification in Ohio.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as a nursing home, hospital, or assisted living facility, preferred.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient care techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to assist patients, including lifting and moving.
Working Conditions:
- May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Potential exposure to infectious materials and hazardous substances.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
