    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Communications and Marketing Specialist will support one of our federal client’s innovative technology, science and research focused initiatives by providing communications, marketing and media outreach.

    The position is generally virtual; however, when appropriate, onsite meetings in Washington DC, and other travel during conference venue selection and onsite conference staffing will be required.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop virtual community marketing and communication strategies.
    • Write press releases, public service announcements and background marketing materials.
    • Perform virtual event marketing using press, television and radio outlets.
    • Provide creative strategies to assist the client grow their social media reach through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Spotify and YouTube.
    • Solicit the experience of resource partners to advertise events.
    • Perform marketing outreach to gain attendance for client sponsored events.
    • Assist with developing and drafting an event agenda with notable speakers and exhibitors selected by the client.
    • Develop and execute client focused marketing plan to produce promotional materials, marketing collateral, and other marketing communication materials.
    • Maintain and update marketing mailing lists as needed.
    • Create original documents, revise existing documents, and provide quality control at the request of the Project Director.
    • Measure and report on performance of marketing efforts and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
    • Serve as an editorial expert, highly competent in syntax, diction, style, and grammar.
    • Advance internal and external marketing and communication strategies and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with design team to ensure appropriate brand standards.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience
    • Excellent writing samples a must; please provide with resume. Sample press release, press kit, etc., should be provided.
