    Job Description

    SunMED Medical is a leading National provider of specialty medical equipment that is looking for a Field Representative in Southern California, a territory covering Los Angeles to San Diego. This individual must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic. They must possess highly effective communication skills to establish and maintain relationships across a broad spectrum of medical facilities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF FIELD REPRESENTATIVE

    • This position will require some travel, covering the southern half of the state of California, Los Angeles to San Diego, to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
    • Identify and grow new sales opportunities.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service experience to develop long term client relationships
    • To make face-to-face sales calls with key purchase influencers in the territory to demonstrate, in-service and sell SunMED’s services. Responsible for the successful execution of Sales Action Plans. To plan, strategize and successfully execute sales calls to all relevant hospital departments, outpatient surgery centers and medical offices. Work or attend meetings and courses as needed.
    • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
    • Conducts in-services and seminars to educate referral sources about SunMED and products.
    • Provide support and service to clients as needed.
    • Provides clear and concise paperwork to the inside sales team to facilitate product ordering. Communicates effectively with inside sales team. Helps to obtain prescriptions and additional paperwork when asked.
    • Measures patients for Lymphedema products. Completes the correct forms based on the products ordered. Ensures a proper fit for each patient. Works with the inside team when a return is necessary.
    • Is familiar with products and assists therapists/customers/patients with product selection.
    • Schedules fitting appointments efficiently in order to accomplish as many fittings as possible each day.
    • Keeps appointments with referral sources and patients, is on time, and communicates with referral sources/patients/supervisor when delayed or when attendance isn’t possible.
    • Helps to target opportunities for new referral source relationships.
    • Works with manufacturer reps in geographic areas of focus to learn about new products to develop sales approach.
    • Compiles data on garments and pumps preferred by customers and shares with management.
    • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
    • Advises customers of equipment for given need based on technical knowledge of products.
    • Provides customers with advice on products available and how to provide appropriate measurements to develop goodwill and promote sales.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Desired Experience

    • Experience in cold calling and opening new accounts
    • Experience with measuring and fitting for compression products
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Experience in conducting in-services / presentations
    • Experience in making multiple referral calls to Medical Professionals on a daily basis
    • Self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, well organized and strong problem-solving abilities

    Basic Qualifications

    · 1-2 years of sales experience preferred

    · 4-year Bachelor Degree

    · Prior healthcare experience a plus

    This position pays at salary plus commission; the commission plan will be determined at a later date. Mileage reimbursement and an expense budget are separate.
