    Summary:

    Perform soldering tasks throughout the assembly process

    Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Perform soldering tasks on electronic assemblies.

    Works as a member of a team under the direction of the production supervisor/lead.

    Capability and ability to maintain production rates and flows.

    Functions under time pressure.

    Gets along with co-workers.

    Follow written instructions and the manufacturing process.

    Contributes to a positive, healthy, and safe work environment. Work in compliance with Microboard, OSHA, and SDS safety policies

    Ability to identify good and bad solder joints.

    Accepts change positively.

    Component identification training is required.

    Proficiency with and working knowledge of Microboard MIS (Aegis) software is required.

    Qualifications:

    Level Distinction:

    I. Operator can perform simple soldering tasks under moderate supervision using assembly instructions with high accuracy and moderate speed, including:

    Demonstrate ability to perform lap joints, butt joints, and through-hole joints.

    Demonstrate ability to attach solder cup and lug soldering for connector terminations.

    Demonstrate ability to perform wire tinning.

    Education: Minimal industry experience is required.

    IPC 610 Certification preferred.

    J-STD-001 Certification preferred.

    II. Operator can perform complex soldering tasks with little to no supervision using assembly instructions with high accuracy and high speed, including:

    Basic knowledge of solder theory.

    Demonstrate ability to install and remove SMT or Through-hole components.

    Demonstrate a high level of quality consciousness, and adherence to industry standards.

    Education: 3-5 years of industry experience or equivalent.

    IPC J-STD-001 Certification required.

    IPC 610 Certification preferred.

    Solid understanding of basic solder theory.

    Demonstrate the ability to install, remove, and repair all electronic packages.

    Demonstrates the ability to use hot air rework equipment.

    Demonstrate the ability to perform circuit board repairs such as barrel, pad, corner, or etch repairs.

    Demonstrate an excellent understand of industry standards.

    Provide leadership within the company relative to soldering techniques and quality.

    Capable of training and supervising others.

    5 years of industry experience or equivalent.

    IPC J-STD-001 Certification Required.

    IPC 610 Certification Required.
