    Job Description

    The Position:

    The Senior Vice President, Human Resources has overall leadership responsibility for the design, development and implementation of effective HR strategies that support the people and business priorities of Universal Studios Hollywood. This position serves as a key member of the senior leadership team for the Universal Studios Hollywood businesses and the senior human resources staff. The Senior Vice President Human Resources reports directly to the General Manager, Universal Studios Hollywood with a functional dual-reporting relationship to the Executive Vice President Human Resources Universal Destinations and Experiences.

    ** The Senior Vice President will:**

    • Provide strategic human resources leadership and operate as a senior-most HR business partner in supporting USH’s goals and objectives. Drive HR initiatives including organizational effectiveness, recruitment, employee relations and engagement, performance management, compensation planning, succession planning, training and development, rewards & recognition and employee communication.
    • Lead the HR business partner and HR specialist organization for USH for all aspects of the employee experience, including talent acquisition, talent and organizational development, strategic business partnering, internal communications, labor relations, community relations and inclusion.
    • Partner closely with UDX Global HR leadership team to ensure they and their teams are well positioned to deliver on strategic UDX enterprise talent and culture priorities and work NBCU global HR on system and process enhancements.
    • Partner with the USH GM to build a high performing senior leadership team and work with peer senior leadership team to ensure they and their teams are well positioned to deliver on priorities and future goals. This includes organization design, workforce planning, talent management, change management and 1 on 1 coaching.
    • Work closely with employment law to create and execute an effective labor relations strategy that maintains positive relationships with a large represented workforce and fourteen labor unions.
    • Deploy workforce data and analytics to measure performance, workforce demographics, reporting, staffing models, and predictive analytics.
    • Direct the strategy and initiatives that position Universal Studios Hollywood as a strong community partner and responsible corporate citizen. This includes stewardship of our Discover A Star Foundation, our compassion program, “Giving is Universal”, team member volunteer programs, and fund-raising and special events.
    • Direct the internal communications strategy utilizing various platforms to ensure delivery of consistent messaging and garner the highest engagement
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Basic Qualifications:**

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required, MBA or Graduate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
    • 15 + years of HR business partner/generalist experience, including hands-on experience and responsibility for organizational effectiveness, employee relations, management coaching, leadership development, workforce planning and employee engagement and leading larger HR organizations
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an HR leadership role, prior work experience in theme park, hospitality or consumer-facing business preferred
    • Previous experience working with unions and California labor law.
    • Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organization design and compensation philosophies and knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety.

    • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize HR analytics to inform strategies, measure effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Program Management: Effectively operationalizes time and resource requirements and interdependencies required to translate strategic priorities into project-based initiatives. Monitors progress against portfolio of projects and proactively surfaces risks accordingly.

    Additional Requirements:

    This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
