    Experience, Skills, and Education Requirements:

    High School Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED)

    Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

    Must have current HAZMAT license/certification or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire

    A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical

    Strong problem solving, critical thinking, coachability, interpersonal, organizational, and verbal/written communications skills.

    Qualified candidates must be able to successfully pass an initial and random DOT drug test, DMV check, criminal background check, and assessments.

    Physically active (will be responsible for loading/unloading at client sites) and requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

    Tanker “N” endorsement is required.

    Forklift license/certification is preferred.

    Summary of Job Responsibilities:

    Local Driving

    Deliver and pick up high-pressure gas cylinders or cryogenic liquid Dewars to/from our customers’ locations in the El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM areas with the occasional deliveries to customers within a 300-mile radius of El Paso, TX.

    Drive a palletized cylinder delivery truck. Placard the truck according to required hazardous material regulations and company standards.

    Load and unload the cylinder truck, sometimes using a forklift, and obtain delivery ticket signatures from customers.

    Accurately capture quantities of each cylinder (part number, gas type, and size) picked up and delivered to customers to ensure accurate billing.

    Use the cylinder barcode scanning system for the control of company assets.

    Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections and use E-logs.

    Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time.

    Record and submit trip paperwork on time (expenses, mile report, delivery tickets, etc.).

    Resolve any customer questions or needs respectfully with an excellent, top-tier, customer-service attitude.

    Participate in monthly safety meetings.

    Long-Haul Driving (if applicable)

    Perform Long-Haul trips in a day cab or sleeper (alone and in a team) hauling liquid tankers to pick up/deliver industrial, medical and food-grade cryogenic gases to customers across the country.

    Safely operate the liquid tanker’s offload pumps using the required PPE.

    Weigh the truck at state-certified scales and operate the trailer’s flowmeters to obtain precise volumes for accurate billing.

    Drive high-pressure tube trailers to deliver gases to customers across the country. Manipulate the tube trailer’s valves for delivery. Take temperatures and pressures of tubes before and after delivery.

    Obtain delivery ticket signatures from customers.

    Plant Operations

    When the Driver/Multi-Operator is not driving locally or long-haul they are expected to be a proactive team-player and perform duties at their local plant. This may include organizing the cylinder pallets in the plant’s yard, unloading cylinders from the day’s deliveries, preparing cylinder pallets for the next day’s deliveries, filling high pressure gas cylinders, propane cylinders, or liquid Dewars, cleaning the facility, and assisting with other operations.
