Job Description
We are a well-funded, early-stage SaaS start-up in the certification, licensing, and compliance management space looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer (Front-End Focused) to join our growing remote team.
The home base for this position is in Tarzana, CA, but full-time remote applicants will be considered. A comfortable home working environment is required in either circumstance.
$120-150K/year, good benefits!
- Work closely with the engineering and product teams to architect and implement a best practice-driven system design supporting business-critical operations
- Ensure the right architectural patterns are in place to support writing robust, maintainable, and testable software
- Foster a culture rooted in data-driven decision making and operational excellence – define impactful metrics for maintaining distributed systems in production and ensure observability and reporting meets your expectations for tracking those metrics
- Take ownership of the SDLC process from helping iterate on requirements and designing data models to tuning and debugging applications in a cloud production environment
- Develop and expose Certemy platform APIs to third-party systems and integrate with third-party APIs to extend the reach of the Certemy platform to related software systems (including third-party testing providers, learning management systems, payment processors, and association management systems). We’re building an ecosystem around the core platform, and this role will be instrumental in designing the integration architecture
- Build out Certemy’s data processing systems and reporting capabilities to assist stakeholders in generating insights from the massive amounts of data collected via the platform
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- A proven track record of delivering and MAINTAINING SOFTWARE IN A PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT
- Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational database technologies and comfort WRITING SQL
- Knowledge of relational data modeling, database performance, indexing, and scaling
- Experience developing backend services in JAVA AND NODEJS/TYPESCRIPT
- An ability to express complex processes via writing and diagraming
- Experience integrating with THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS AND APIS
- Experience working on scalable systems handling HIGH CONCURRENCY AND LARGE DATA SETS
- Experience implementing automated testing (i.e., unit/integration testing)
- Experience with CLOUD-NATIVE DEVOPS ARCHITECTURES (AWS PREFERRED) AND KNOWLEDGE OF CONTAINERIZED APP DEPLOYMENTS (DOCKER, ECS)
- Experience working with APM and log aggregation tools like NEW RELIC//ELK/DATADOG, building custom dashboards and leveraging them for monitoring systems
- Willingness to explore and learn new technologies for a continuous improvement of our applications

- Worked on a SaaS platform sold to enterprise customers and familiar with a modular architecture to support the ability to turn modules on/off easily as customers purchase new functionality.
- Experience with SOC2 requirements, specifically around security, availability & privacy
- Experience working on a remote team
