    Job Description

    SaaStr is looking to hire its first full-time VP of Sales. We're on track to do $20,000,000 in media/sponsor revenue in 2021 and have a small but outstanding sales team ... but have never had a true, full-time VP of Sales.

    Is that you? :)

    Your job is to own the number, help build a small but mighty team, get SaaS companies leads and build awareness, and have fun helping thousands of Cloud founders and execs.

    What's fun:

    • HIGH IMPACT. With a relatively high deal size, a proven brand, and good renewals, a small team can do a lot.
    • PARTNER WITH SPONSORS AND CUSTOMERS. Your job is really to be a partner with 150+ sponsnors to help them scale.
    • A BRAND AND COMMUNITY YOU CAN BELIEVE IN. SaaStr is all about helping the next generation. That's rewarding.
    • A GOOD IF NASCENT ENGINE. We don't have a ton of systems and process in place, but we do have 6+ years of sponsors, customers and revenue under our belt.

    What's quirky / what to know:

    • WE ARE A DIGITAL MEDIA / EVENTS ORG, NOT A SAAS COMPANY. Yes, SaaStr is big and sells to SaaS companies. And. yes, your job is to sell to SaaS and Cloud CMOs and field marketers. But we aren't a SaaS company ourselves.
    • WE'RE SMALL. Can you work in a small org, with limited support? Yes, SaaStr has a big impact. But we are a tiny team.
    • YOU HAVE TO BE COMFORTABLE WITH HIGHER PRICE POINTS AND SELLING VALUE. SaaStr sponsorships and media assets aren't cheap. We think we have the higher ROI in the business, due to our scale. But we don't price low. Do you enjoy selling value? For real? We're not really a transactional sale. Each deal is work.
    • YOU HAVE TO BE CREATIVE. Our 150+ sponsors all have somewhat different goals, to match up with somewhat different products. You have to enjoy being creative, and not just reading from a script.

    If you KNOW and love SaaStr, and really want to have some fun but challenges helping us scale to $30m, $50m, $100m and beyond.

    • WE'RE A DISTRIBUTED TEAM NOW, so anywhere in the U.S. is OK
    • STRETCH CANDIDATES ARE OK, BUT YOU MUST HAVE MANAGED AND HIRED AT LEAST A SMALL TEAM. We also have room to have 1-2 senior sales execs, so if that's more you, apply for that.
    • IF YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW SAASTR, DON'T APPLY. Do something more traditional :)
