Job Description

Saatva is looking for a backend software engineer. You will be responsible for developing scalable, robust and high performance solutions to build upon our high traffic eCommerce web applications and logistics software. You will be a key contributor in implementing our platform architecture. PHP,  Ruby, NodeJs, Python, Docker, AWS, Heroku, Git, Magento, Slack and Jira are some of the technologies and tools that you’ll work with.

WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY:

• Design and implement integration code as micro services to enable data integration
• Work closely with a cross functional team to deliver top notch services
• Architect custom solutions on top of a variety of platforms
• Develop custom back office, logistics and fulfillment software
• Participate in scrum estimations, daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

• 3+ years developing web based applications
• Experience with a PHP framework or Ruby
• Experience with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and general relational database concepts
• Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful web services
• Experience with an object oriented language
• Some experience with a JavaScript Framework (we use React)
• Passion for producing elegant, maintainable code

• Computer Science or other technical degree preferred
