Saenger Associates is conducting a search for a Director of Quality for our successful client, a mid-sized public manufacturer of aircraft control components, in business for 75 years. They have multiple facilities in California and Mexico, including an optimized 80,000 sq ft, state-of-the art facility to accommodate continued growth and fluctuating challenges of modern day commercial and military aerospace industries.

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Division President, the successful candidate will direct a team of 20+ staff in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Inspection and related functions. The company has over 200 employees and prides itself on delivering high quality products to the major aerospace prime contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure total product integrity by providing strategic leadership in upholding product integrity, vision, culture, structure, management systems and processes across all manufacturing sites.

• Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish effective Quality Management Systems; initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise overall performance of the Company’s product lines.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years in Quality management in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in the aerospace sector;

• Bachelor’s Degree Required; MBA preferred

• Prefer Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt & Continuous Improvement expertise

• Knowledge of AS9100 is essential
