    Saf-T-Swim offers a fun environment where you can make a difference for others in a rewarding environment. We teach life-saving swimming skills and water safety techniques and for this specific instructor position, knowledge and experience with various physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities are required. We get to work with children every day, so each day is full of smiles, laughter, and just being silly. Our staff are paid to make a splash, literally!!

    Responsibilities

    Special Abilities Swim Teacher. You are able to teach a wide variety of different abilities the needed skills in accordance with Saf-T-Swim's curriculum in a fun, positive manner.

    Knowledge of Saf-T-Swim Teaching Techniques. Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, positive reinforcement and introduction of required skills while conducting a quality lesson.

    Positive engagement. Speak with all parents, students, and staff members in an upbeat and positive manner.

    Be the face of Saf-T-Swim. Create a vision for the parents to understand where the lessons are leading and provide constructive feedback, adapting their teaching style to suit the student’s needs.

    Knowledge of Saf-T-Swim standards. Arrive for work 10 minutes prior to scheduled lessons. Must be dependable and punctual.

    Establish ongoing relationships. Drive long term enrollment through consistent communication providing continuous, positive feedback to students and customers regarding their swimming progress.

    Maintain a calm professional demeanor. If faced with customer dissatisfaction gracefully diffuse the customer’s concerns and escalate to management when needed

    Perform administrative duties. Contacts students prior to upcoming session and update student information in the system.

    Wear the proper uniform. Always come to work with your Saf-T-Swim logo swimsuit.

    Perform other duties as assigned. Be adaptable to the constant changing environment- of the facility.

    Requirements

    Love and respect students while teaching them to swim.

    Be a team player who is consistently dependable and reliable.

    Complete required training and be a continual learner.

    Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities and comfort of each student.

    Smile and have fun during your entire shift.

    Day, evening, weekends and/or holiday availability

    Minimum of 15 hours a week

    Legal documentation to establish your identity and eligibility for employment

    Education/Experience/Certifications

    Background or experience in Special Education, Adaptive P.E., or related field.

    Must have current CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications for both infant/child and adult.

    USA Swimming certification and/or Red Cross WSI Certification.
