    Job Description

    We are working with a video conferencing company in Irvine looking for an experienced pre-sales design engineer to join their team as head of design. In this role, you will be supporting the internal sales team along with new and prospective clients with technical assistance. 

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

    The AV and Collaboration Design Engineer works closely with the End User Services, Facilities and Client Technology teams to design, plan, organize, integrate and implement collaboration tool evaluations, conference room innovations and enterprise-wide engineering projects. Provide dedicated technical support for video conferencing systems and integrations with third-party platforms (tools, infrastructure, and AV equipment).

    Identify potential system problems and develop solutions and repairs. Perform maintenance and repair tasks on all video conferencing equipment to deliver 99.999 uptime. Manage video network projects and support the associated network environment that includes voice, data, and or video image technologies Research, evaluate and recommend new equipment, tools, and collaboration technologies. Maintain the security of the video conferencing systems and supporting infrastructure. Recommend infrastructure and security improvements. Provide technical expertise, training, and support to Tier 1 staff. Be an advocate for simplified end-user experiences in the conference room and collaboration spaces and develop training materials as necessary to ensure an educated user community. Analyze engineering, space and electrical schematics and related data to determine IT component design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of equipment. Provide system engineering and solution-based architecture for AV applications. Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and drive improvements to existing products. Ensure the timely procurement of AV and collaboration equipment that meets the established specifications and standards of the project while partnering with adjacent stakeholders on suitability of space, design, performance, and user interfaces. Research and evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability.

    Develop implementation schedules, test plans, and orchestrate training programs, as necessary. Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications and drawing releases. Non-Technical Job Responsibilities Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to speak to all levels of understanding in the AV space, from novice end users, to technical experts in infrastructure, to e-suite executives utilizing the platforms supported. Strong problem-solving skills. Consistent ability to build strong relationships with business users, operational managers, vendors, and colleagues. Must be able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner. Up to date knowledge of technical applications. Ability to be adapt and prioritize. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to think ahand anticipate problems, issues, and solutions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited Engineering program or a minimum of 5 years' equivalent AV design and engineering experience. Proficiency in working with multiple Codecs (Polycom and CISCO), control systems (AMX, Extron and Crestron), Audio video matrix switchers (Crestron, Extron, and AMX), and Digital Signal processors (ClearOne, Extron and Biamp) Experience with audio balancing and equalizing room speakers. Administrative Experience with SAS collaboration platforms such as GTM, ZOOM, O365, WEBEX. Possess solid understanding of IP addresses, subnets, and networking concepts, especially as they relate to enterprise-wide conferencing systems. Operating knowledge of all MS Office products. Ability to follow and revise advanced flow diagrams.
