    Responsibilities:

    Performance of basic chemical testing as needed by current USP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Test Methods (TM), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) on raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products. The testing may include but not limited to: pH determination, viscosity, specific gravity, etc. Conduct wet chemical titration to determine the percentage of activity on various solutions and raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products and by the use of instruments such as: Viscometer, pH meter, FTIR, UV, Auto-titrator, etc.

     

    • Prepare solutions and titrants when required
    • Clean laboratory work area
    • Perform simple testing as needed using TMs, SOPs, and as per methodology USP/NF and other test requirements on raw materials, bulk liquids, and finished products.
    • Assist Stability Coordinator in Stability Study Program requirements including but not limited to; entering studies into software program, drafting of new protocols, scheduling of testing etc.
    • Oversee and ensure that all outside testing is sent to appropriate lab
    • Carry out special projects, lab testing, data collection, and administrative duties as needed
    • Assist in monitoring stability chambers and data recorders on a daily basis
    • Assist with the filing and archiving of stability studies
    • Support the Chemistry department in collecting raw material samples, preparing them for analysis and running routine lab tests
    • Keeping track of the data obtained and accurately recording the various analyses in an assigned laboratory notebook
    • Input testing results into appropriate paperwork/COA
    • Clean glassware
    • Follow all safety procedures

     

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • High School Diploma

     

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • 1 year directly related pharmaceutical job experience desired but not required

     

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Must have excellent communication skills
    • Basic understanding of the requirements of the USP and GMP requirements as applied to the testing of pharmaceuticals
    • Ability to perform well under pressure and work with minimum supervision
    • Ability to read and comprehend methods and other instructional documents such as SOPs
    • Knowledge of Analytical techniques and able to incorporate them into daily tasks
    • Computer literate
    • Demonstrate ability to perform work accurately and be able to follow test methodology
    • Ability to perform well under pressure and work with minimum supervision 
    • Good interpersonal skills that support working in a team environment
