    SAFETEC OF AMERICA INC. is a fast growing OTC pharmaceutical company located in Buffalo, NY. We are a family owned, local business with a reputation of retaining employees because we treat them like family.

    We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of scheduled tasks related to the upkeep and functionality of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate must be dependable, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to see what needs to be done with little direct supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Facility Repair & Maintenance: minor plumbing, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile exchange, painting, and other requests

    • Keeps all cardboard recycling totes and trash bins throughout the production area and Warehouse emptied

    • Assist with set up and break down for special Company events

    • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the grounds: pulling weeds, picking up trash, sweeping and shoveling

    • Provides back-up for the Cleaner including but not limited to: dusting, sweeping, moping, emptying wastebaskets and refilling restroom dispensers

     

    Required Skills and Work Experience:

    • At least 1 year of experience as a maintenance worker in one or more of the basic building maintenance trades

    • Vocation certificate in one or more of the following: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or Small Engine Repair

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours or weekend assignments

    • Ability to operate a forklift preferred

    • Knowledge and experience using basic power and manual tools effectively

    • Knowledge of general facility maintenance operations and procedures

    • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook

    • Ability to work in indoor or out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes

    • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel

    • Ability to perform basic math including percentages and fraction conversion
