Position Summary:
The Warehouse Safety Lead is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment in the warehouse. This role plays a key part in compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety standards, conducting regular safety inspections, leading training programs, and promoting a culture of safety among all warehouse personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Enforce and monitor compliance with safety policies and regulations (OSHA, company standards, etc.)
Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments of warehouse operations and equipment
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
Lead and facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for staff
Maintain documentation of safety training, incident reports, and inspection checklists
Collaborate with warehouse leadership to ensure safety practices are integrated into daily operations
Serve as the primary contact during safety audits and inspections
Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety through employee engagement and feedback
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; additional safety or OSHA certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 30)
2+ years of experience in warehouse or industrial safety leadership
Knowledge of warehouse equipment, operations, and common hazards
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead by example and train diverse teams effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems (SMS)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move through a warehouse environment for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise)
