  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The purpose of this job is to support the Pilot Safety & Security Team by assisting with the development, management and compliance for all Safety programs.

    1. Review, develop and implement safety policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
    2. Manage safety projects and oversee the development of new safety initiatives
    3. Perform division, region, and company-wide analysis of corporate and retail location related accidents and identify trends; draft weekly/monthly/quarterly reports and presentations for management
    4. Conduct injury root cause investigations and analysis
    5. Participate in monthly conference calls to present safety reports
    6. Maintain documentation requirements per OSHA and other regulatory requirements
    7. Assist in the development and coordination of emergency preparedness plans for the Sales and Support Centers (SSC)
    8. Assess daily weather status and identify viable threats; communicate threats to the company’s operations management and assist in emergency calls’ tracking/follow up/reporting
    9. Develop a calendar and knowledge base of State / Country regulatory requirements.
    10. Develop weekly/monthly safety message for Operations including safety awareness, current incident reports, and industry best practices
    11. Responsible for maintaining department shared folders and databases
    12. Evaluate individual required state safety programs; ensure programs are current and compliant with regulatory requirements
    13. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
    14. Complete other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management/Occupational Health and Safety/Risk Management preferred, or a minimum of Three years’ experience in Safety related field
    • BCSP (Board Certified Safety Professional) preferred
    • OSHA 30 Certification (required)
    • Skilled in oral and written communications. Policies and procedures
    • Knowledge and experience with governmental / regulatory agency inquiries and investigations (OSHA, DoH, DoE, etc)
    • Experience in developing safety procedures and programs
    • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
    • Ability to format and analyze data sets
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers, levels of management and varying agencies
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Strong investigative, data mining and report writing skills
    • Highly organized with attention to detail
    • Ability to take initiative; work independently as well as on a team

    Additional Information

    • General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
    • Travel required less than 20%
    • Flexibility in work schedule; Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Support the Safety and Security team emergency on-call rotation
