We are looking for a dedicated Safety Attendant to join our HSE team. In this hands-on role, you will be the front-line guardian of workplace safety — monitoring conditions, enforcing procedures, and responding to incidents to protect every worker on site. Our safety philosophy is simple: all incidents and accidents can be prevented with proper job planning and hazard recognition. As a Safety Attendant, you are empowered with stop-work authority — if work cannot be done safely, you have the authority and responsibility to stop it.
Key Responsibilities
Follow all safety policies and procedures; notify supervision immediately if protocols cannot be met
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per company policies and contractor requirements
Report all incidents and accidents, regardless of severity, to a supervisor immediately
Exercise stop-work authority whenever work cannot be performed safely
Actively identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and intervene immediately
Communicate safety concerns, near misses, and unsafe conditions to supervisors and HSE leadership promptly
Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Pre-Task Plan (PTP) reviews as assigned
Ensure all required permits (Confined Space, Hot Work, LOTO, etc.) are properly completed, verified, and closed out
Ensure all workers entering confined spaces follow proper safety procedures
Continuously observe workers inside confined spaces for signs of distress or injury
Verify that safety equipment is in good working order at all times
Enforce the wearing of appropriate PPE in all shop areas
Assist with emergency response procedures in the event of a workplace incident
Initiate rescue procedures and coordinate with emergency services as needed
Provide first aid and CPR as necessary
Document observations, inspections, and incidents clearly and accurately
Maintain accurate records of work performed, write permits, and conduct safety inspections
Report any safety violations or incidents to management
Organize safety supplies and equipment with other Safety department staff
Help maintain clean, orderly shops for housekeeping and safety purposes
Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, confined space procedures, and permit-required work
Familiarity with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Pre-Task Planning (PTP) processes
Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure
Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment
Commitment to a zero-incident safety culture
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
