    Summary - Safety Coordinator - Concrete Manufacturing Plant

    We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee health and safety compliance at a prestress concrete manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for developing and managing safety programs, conducting training, leading inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a background in occupational safety and experience in manufacturing or construction environments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support in safety and health compliance for plant and job site personnel.

    • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and training initiatives.

    • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations.

    • Oversee safety inspections and audits, including those requested by clients or regulatory agencies such as OSHA.

    • Identify and assess safety training needs; develop and conduct safety training sessions for all employees.

    • Implement hazard controls to reduce safety and occupational health risks.

    • Assist staff with proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    • Promote a culture of safety through regular plant inspections, safety meetings, and targeted training programs.

    • Manage onboarding safety training and documentation for all new hires and site personnel.

    • Enforce safety policies in alignment with the company’s disciplinary procedures.

    • Lead incident prevention and response efforts, including reporting, investigation, and corrective action planning.

    • Report injuries and incidents to leadership, manage workers' compensation claims, and conduct case management for open claims.

    • Handle environmental reporting tasks, including stormwater testing and air quality reporting.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education & Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent education and experience.

    • Prior experience in manufacturing or construction safety is preferred.
