Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting company-wide safety, production, and administrative functions. This role will split time between the office and active job sites, working closely with crew leaders, project managers, clients, and office staff to ensure safe operations, accurate documentation, and smooth project execution. You will be traveling on average of 40-50% of the year. Knowledge of construction equipment, safety protocols, tools and equipment preferred, but not a requirement. The company will provide the necessary safety trainer courses necessary to perform the safety trainings to the staff. Must be able to read, write and speak in Spanish. We are in the construction industry, therefore, this position is Monday-Saturday. You may also have to work some Sundays depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Assist with processing workers’ compensation claims
Support organization and coordination of employee safety training programs
Maintain safety training documentation and weekly safety meeting records
Assist with incident reporting and follow-up documentation
Help manage and maintain the Got Safety App and related records
Ensure construction crews have required safety equipment and tools
Inspect ladders, harnesses, and safety equipment for wear and damage
Office / Administrative
Order Apple devices for employees, including screen protectors and cases
Track and submit receipts to accounting monthly
Request and maintain W-9 forms from subcontractors
Organize and maintain project files within the company database
Projects and Travel
Travel to projects as needed to assist in safety procedures
Travel to projects to perform safety training
Perform random on-site safety inspections for projects
Shop/Yard
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, shop, and storage areas
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment for crews
Assist with inventory counts of tools, materials, and safety equipment
Label, organize, and store materials properly
Dispose of scrap material and debris in designated areas
Support foremen and superintendents as needed
Run errands for parts, tools, or supplies
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations
Insurance & Compliance
Process and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for clients
Collect and verify subcontractor COIs and monitor policy status throughout the year
Ensure all company vehicles are added to insurance policies
Maintain vehicle insurance cards and vehicle information spreadsheet
Qualifications
Prior experience in construction safety, project coordination, or field operations preferred
Familiarity with OSHA standards and construction safety practices (preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment
Proficient with basic office software and mobile applications
Ability to travel to job sites approximately 50% of the time
Must be bilingual – English and Spanish
