    Primary Responsibilities

    • Provide, inspect, and demonstrate the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure such PPE meets the ANSI standards.
    • Operate air monitoring equipment and determine accurate results for field operations.
    • Ensures that all areas under their control meet the required standards as set out in the company Safety, Health, and Environmental Policy as well as any OSHA, MSHA, EPA or any applicable Government Agencies and regulatory compliance.
    • Assists in preliminary diagnosis of injuries as part of emergency response.
    • Conducts Incident Investigations.
    • Conducts regular Safety, Health, and Environmental Inspections as required, report and ensure deficiencies are abated in a timely manner.
    • Reports Safety, Health and Environmental hazards and deficiencies to his/her supervisor and Operational Manager.
    • Identifies, recommends, and ensures employees receive appropriate training.
    • Write and Implement health and safety plans for jobsites regulated by OSHA/MSHA and EPA.
    • Write and implement health and safety plans for OSHA regulated hazardous waste site work.
    • Position requires at least 75% travel by car or air.
    • Majority of work hours will be spent on project sites in a heavy construction environment.

    Position Qualifications Requirements/Preferences

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the safety field.
    • Must have Heavy Industry/Construction experience.
    • Must have Strong Knowledge of OSHA Construction (especially excavation/trenching standards 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P) and ability to apply them on site, General Industry Standards.
    • Formal Education or Equivalent Experience, Degree in Occupational Safety and Health , Construction Management, or related field is often preferred; however, significant on-the-job experience is also valued. Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Manager (CSM).
    • Must have knowledge of MSHA, EPA, and any other applicable Government Agencies.
    • Trainer in OSHA 10-and 30-hour, Trainer First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.
    • Requires ability to lift at least 50lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Communication Abilities, Skilled in delivering toolbox talks, crew training, and safety briefings. Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within the company.
    • Coordination with Project Leadership & Subcontractors, ensuring safety expectations are understood, followed, and integrated across all trades and subcontractors on site.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft and other Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    • Problem-Solving & Leadership, Ability to influence culture, enforce safety standards, and guide crews and supervisors to safe performance.
    • Bilingual Preferred.
