    Safety Manager

    Position Summary

    The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all safety programs across Earthtones Maintenance and Earthtones Design. This role focuses on protecting employees, reducing workplace injuries, ensuring OSHA compliance, improving fleet safety performance, and promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the organization.

    The Safety Manager serves as a partner to operations leadership by providing training, coaching, auditing, and incident management support while helping branches maintain safe and compliant operations. This position is responsible for proactive safety leadership, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance but does not have primary responsibility for environmental compliance programs, which would fall under an EHS role.

    This position supports multiple branch locations across Texas and regularly travels to jobsites, branch offices, and operational facilities.

    Safety Program Management

    Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures.

    Promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.

    Ensure safety programs align with OSHA regulations and company standards.

    Maintain safety manuals, policies, and training materials.

    Continuously evaluate and improve safety processes and initiatives.

    OSHA Compliance & Auditing

    Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and applicable workplace safety regulations.

    Conduct branch, shop, and jobsite safety audits.

    Identify hazards and implement corrective action plans.

    Maintain required safety records and documentation.

    Assist operations teams in preparing for regulatory inspections.

    Incident Investigation & Corrective Action

    Investigate workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, near misses, and property damage incidents.

    Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans.

    Track incident trends and recommend preventative measures.

    Partner with leadership to ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

    Maintain incident reporting and documentation processes.

    Workers' Compensation Partnership

    Partner with HR to support workers' compensation claim management.

    Assist with incident reporting and claim investigations.

    Participate in return-to-work and modified duty programs.

    Identify opportunities to reduce injury frequency and claim costs.

    Review claim trends and develop preventative strategies.

    Safety Training & Employee Development

    Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees.

    Conduct new hire safety orientation.

    Facilitate toolbox talks and ongoing safety education.

    Train supervisors and managers on safety leadership and accountability.

    Maintain training records and certification tracking.

    Fleet & Driver Safety

    · Oversee company driver safety programs.

    · Monitor motor vehicle record (MVR) compliance.

    · Assist with driver qualification file management.

    · Investigate vehicle accidents and coordinate corrective actions.

    · Partner with Fleet personnel to improve vehicle safety and compliance.

    · Promote safe driving practices and defensive driving program

    Branch & Jobsite Support

    Conduct regular visits to branch locations and active jobsites.

    Coach supervisors and managers on safe work practices.

    Support operations teams with safety planning and risk mitigation.

    Participate in operational meetings to address safety concerns and initiatives.

    Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding safety-related issues.

    Reporting & Performance Management

    Develop and maintain safety scorecards and KPI reporting.

    Track and report:

    OSHA recordable incidents

    Lost-time incidents

    Vehicle accidents

    Near misses

    Safety audit results

    Training completion rates

    Present safety performance reports to leadership.

    Recommend improvement initiatives based on data and trends.

    Qualifications

    Required

    5+ years of safety experience in commercial landscaping, construction, field services, manufacturing, or a related industry.

    Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.

    Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.

    Experience developing and delivering safety training.

    Strong communication and leadership skills.

    Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

    Ability to travel regularly between company locations and jobsites.

    Preferred

    OSHA 500, OSHA 510, OSHA 30, or similar certification.

    CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) certification.

    CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification.

    Experience supporting commercial landscape maintenance and/or construction operations.

    Experience with fleet safety programs.

    Bilingual (English/Spanish).
