  • Responsibilities

    The Safety Manager will be an individual contributor influencing, developing, implementing, and administering occupational health and safety programs to ensure legal compliance while creating and maintaining a safe and secure working environment in an industrial manufacturing specialty food solutions industry. PSM experience required.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership, guidance, direction and other resources on safety and health issues.
    • Plans, develops and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations, or other governing authorities
    • Responsible for Program Compliance: audits, scorecard, Safety Training and Orientation, Risk Management Audit Coordination and Claims Management.
    • Deliver safety programs within budgetary guidelines.
    • Conduct safety training
    • Decrease “lost days from work” and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) recordable incidents.
    • Provides guidance on accident reporting and administration.
    • Demonstrate awareness of customer needs and perform job duties to effectively meet those needs.
    • Develop interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally.
    • Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers/vendors and coworkers.
    • Improve safety policies and procedures.
    • Monitor safety programs and implement changes necessary to ensure the health and safety of associates.

    Required Qualifications

    • 3+ Years’ Experience in occupational safety and health management in an industrial manufacturing plant environment
    • Bachelor’s Degree in occupational safety and health, human resources, environmental management or related area
    • PSM experience required
    • Passionate Leadership Skills with a hands-on approach fueling positive energy & communication actively interacting with hourly associates on the plant floor and senior leadership executives
    • Exposure to HACCP, SQF, BRC or other food regulatory programs a plus
