    Position Summary

We are seeking a Safety Manager (SSHO Manager) to lead and drive safety across active construction and earthwork projects.

This is a field-based leadership role responsible for both executing safety on job sites and building the systems, processes, and accountability structure behind it.

The Safety Manager is highly visible in the field, working directly with superintendents, foremen, and crews, while also owning the overall safety program. This individual ensures safety is not just compliant, but fully integrated into daily operations.

This role is ideal for someone who knows how to build a safety program from the ground up, lead in the field, and drive results across multiple projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    Field Leadership & Presence

    • Maintain a strong, consistent presence across active job sites
    • Lead by example in enforcing and modeling safe work practices
    • Work directly with crews, foremen, and superintendents to drive daily safety execution

    Safety Program Ownership

    • Build, implement, and continuously improve the company-wide safety program
    • Develop and standardize policies, procedures, and safety expectations
    • Ensure alignment with OSHA regulations and industry best practices
    • Create structure and consistency across all projects

    Process Creation & Continuous Improvement

    • Develop safety workflows, reporting processes, and accountability systems
    • Track and analyze incidents, trends, and safety metrics
    • Implement proactive solutions to reduce risk and improve performance
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across field operations

    Team Leadership & Accountability

    • Lead and mentor Safety Officers and field leadership
    • Hold teams accountable to safety expectations while maintaining respect and credibility
    • Partner with operations to ensure safety and production are aligned
    • Influence decision-making at both field and leadership levels

    Training & Communication

    • Develop and deliver safety training, orientations, and leadership coaching
    • Ensure all employees understand hazards, expectations, and responsibilities
    • Communicate safety updates, lessons learned, and best practices

    Incident Management & Compliance

    • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
    • Oversee OSHA reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
    • Ensure all safety documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready

    Operational Integration

    • Partner with project teams during planning to identify and mitigate risks early
    • Support jobsite execution by removing safety-related constraints

    • Proven ability to build and implement safety programs and processes
    • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance requirements
    • Hands-on experience in civil construction, earthwork, or heavy equipment environments
