Professional Safety Solutions, LLC is hiring a Safety Observer to support Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Substation construction activities on a long-term project in Denver, Colorado.
This role is ideal for a safety professional who understands utility construction, energized work environments, and the critical importance of field-level hazard recognition. You will work directly with field crews and construction management to monitor work activities, ensure safe execution, and maintain a strong, proactive safety presence on site. A CUSP credential is preferred.
Our Expectations:
Health and Safety Professionals at ProSafe serve in a dual role, where the initial objective is to operate in a consultative capacity by providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels.
In addition, along with management, the Safety Observer at ProSafe is expected to be a hands-on partner in delivering various safety initiatives and programs designed to build and sustain an excellent safety culture on every project.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a strong field presence by monitoring daily T&D and Substation activities.
Observe and verify safe execution of work involving high-voltage operations, switching, grounding, rigging, equipment operation, and substation construction tasks.
Support daily tailboards, crew briefings, and job hazard analysis (JHA) reviews.
Conduct field audits, document findings, and help crews correct hazards in real time.
Assist with incident and near-miss reporting, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned communication.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, utility standards, and project-specific requirements.
Review control measures for energized work, LOTO, grounding, and switching procedures.
Coach and mentor crew members in hazard recognition and safe work planning.
Maintain accurate records of field observations and corrective actions.
Collaborate with project leadership, client representatives, and line crews to support a safe and productive job site.
Qualifications:
Experience in T&D, Substation, or utility construction safety required.
CUSP preferred.
Strong knowledge of utility work methods, grounding, switching, rigging, and energized work protocols.
OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED required.
Excellent communication and observation skills with the ability to effectively engage crews.
Proficiency with digital reporting and field documentation tools.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
