Position Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for supporting and enhancing safety programs for Vantage Point Solutions This role works closely with internal teams and leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct training, and mitigate workplace risks. The ideal candidate is a proactive safety professional who is comfortable working in the field, building relationships, and translating safety standards into practical, real-world solutions.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and procedures
• Conduct safety audits, job site inspections, and risk assessments for internal operations and client sites
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and documentation
• Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and educational materials to employees and clients
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other applicable safety regulations
• Maintain safety records, reports, and metrics; assist with regulatory reporting as needed
• Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and client leadership to reinforce a culture of safety
• Serve as a safety resource for questions, guidance, and best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role (utilities, construction, telecom, or industrial environments preferred)
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry safety standards
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent
• Experience supporting electric utilities, cooperatives, or broadband/telecom operations
• Training or facilitation experience
• Familiarity with safety management systems and incident tracking tools
